I've immensely enjoyed browsing through this meme as it's popped up all over the flist - I have a few more to read but I'm saving them for the peace that happens between Boxing Day and New Year's Eve. There will be a festivities cease fire won't there?
Any hoo onto to the review of my Vidding Year. For reference here are the previous years 2006 2007 2008

In general terms a very productive vidding year for me, only two vidlets and a broad range of fandoms. Favourite Vid
Is it always the last one you made because I'm very fond of 'I'll Be There For You' . But perhaps my Dollhouse vid 'Rake It In' get's it this year - a somewhat unpopular fandom but I think I managed to successfully convey my message. Least Favourite
Not sure there is one this year... No I think each one has it's merits. Most successful video.
I suppose in the sense of comments, links, feedback & hits that would be 'Awfully Different' - it's a winning combination, Spike and Angel although not strictly a shippy vid. It's not a new idea or theme but I think that song helped big time. Most under appreciated
I'm fortunate to get feedback on most of what I post these days. I suppose 'Puncture Repair' would be the one that had the solitary response, but it's a vidlet so in proportion just about right? Most Fun
Making 'I'll Be There For You' was fun - just in the sense that the source is so wonderful. I mean who needs an excuse to rewatch the W&G shorts and Wererabbit several times? And as it was a gift, then it was fun watching their reaction to it. Also 'Awfully Different' was a hoot and came together so easily for me. Hardest to make
was possibly 'Reason Is Treason' - I know the show well but perhaps not Lindsey quite so well as I thought, plus it always seemed to be Lindsey and Angel or Lindsey and Darla - so trying to keep the focus on his character was a little difficult. I also spent a lot of time choosing the 'right' movements from Mozart concertos that would best lend themselves to the mood of each of the three parts of 'Amadeus' - not that it is a hardship to listen to such wonderful music but time consuming all the same. Kick Ass/Sexiest vid
Supermassive Black Hole. The opening sequence is exactly what I envisaged and no-one does latex quite like Gwen Raiden. Things I've learnt this year.
Apart from a little more about my current editing program, technically not much. However it's the happiest I've felt about my vids/vidding in a very long time. I have learnt to come to terms with my style, skill (or lack thereof) and approach to it all. I feel there is a place for everyone in the vidding community - whether they make meta/drama/comedy/experimental/
recruiter/trailers/ mixes and mashups etc blah blah. I don't worry too much whether my contribution matters because it's a drop in the ocean. It's important to me and I make what I like to see, if others enjoy it then it's a wonderful bonus. It's a hobby that I am supposed to enjoy - and right now I finish one vid and am ready within a matter of weeks/days to look for the next new project. I like that feeling and long may it continue.
I've also discovered that mixing the fandoms for vids from whedonverse TV shows with films that I love, also helps creatively. I don't feel I'm stuck in a rut and I love returning to familiar shows as much as playing with some new source. Things to Work on
I progressed with all the points from last year. Ditch the old editing program *check* Vid other fandoms *check* I would like to vid some more non whedonverse tv shows - the clipping for these is a little intimidating but I think I need to do it. Worthwhile to play with effects a little more - I can't work masking to save my life and haven't explored the effects available in the editing software much - most appear on the surface to be really clunky and cheesey. Perhaps create some experimental pieces.Vid Projects that I want to finish.
There's nothing at the moment that is unfinished. I'm ready for my next vid Mr De Mille . I did quite well here from last years meme- I have 16 songs on the 'most likely' vid bunny list . Four are relationship songs, 3 character studies and four instrumentals Yeah, vid more instrumentals and finally make a couple of shipper vids long overdue.
