Not everything has to be/ or should be dark/deep/disturbing. I have a whole list of shows that already fill that quota and this makes a refreshing change.

True, dat. For the past year I watched a lot of The Wire, Continuum, and The Americans which are all deep/dark/or disturbing to some degree. But sometimes I just want a little bit of escapist fun and I find myself really enjoying SHIELD. I don't care one bit if "fandom" disagrees.
