So we've had 3 episodes of A.o.S in the UK now.  I've seen a bit of criticism and praise too, but I am loving the show. It's not 100% whedonesque but I never expected that. This is primarily a Marvel show and is aimed at family audience. As such I'm finding that it's a lot of fun and highly entertaining.   Not everything has to be/ or should be dark/deep/disturbing. I have a whole list of shows that already fill that quota and this makes a refreshing change.

We all watch it together on Friday night and it's a good reason to make a huge bowl of popcorn and have a glass or three to celebrate the start of the weekend. It's a great way to do that. Ellie thinks Melinda May is beyond awesome too.

In other news I'm in London  from Thursday in readiness for the Cult Film Gala for the London Film Festival 'Jim Jarmusch's Only Lovers Left Alive'. I booked it before Tom Hiddleston was announced as appearing so *flails* yay. And then they've just arranged a Marvel Event for Thor : The Dark World  at the Apple Store the day before with Kevin Feige, Alan Taylor and you know who... So I've reserved that too.  I hope to take photos but I may just sit there in a catatonic state.

The following weekend I am at Hallowhedon Five - Amy Acker has cancelled as she's working on Person of Interest I suppose. But Alexis Denisof is still down to appear along with Jane Espenson, Tom Lenk, and a few others. It should be a good gig. I'm still kicking myself that I didn't bother go the Starfury Serenity Con last month  when Sean Maher and Jewel Staite took Joss Whedon to the party.  First time in 10 years that I haven't attended a Starfury event and that's what happens.

True, dat. For the past year I watched a lot of The Wire, Continuum, and The Americans which are all deep/dark/or disturbing to some degree. But sometimes I just want a little bit of escapist fun and I find myself really enjoying SHIELD. I don't care one bit if "fandom" disagrees.
