Lucifer Season 5A

So I have one more episode to rewatch and I would have seen Lucifer S5A three times.

What a fabulous start to the season. I loved every episode, some more than others and then the 'others' more after I paid attention to all the big fat clues the writers were leaving.  From a Deckerstar point of view I think it delivered, and in such a satisfying fashion. Ultimately I am  invested in Lucifer's redemption/story line most of all and I could not call how they are going to wrap it.

The cliffhanger was perfect and the introduction of Michael(IsADick) was brilliant, really allowing Tom Ellis to exercise his acting chops with great results.  I am a tad disappointed on how Maze appears to repeating the same mistakes of the past, but we've yet to see how this pans out. 

The fandom is completely awash with stunning art inspired by the new Season - there's a group of artists on twitter who produce consistently amazing work, and I'm wallowing gleefully in that community as I tweet out my offerings. The official Lucifer Netlfix twitter account promotes 4 artists each Friday (and they actually followed me) so it would be cool if I was included, I may even get to 300 followers over there :) 

My favourite fan fic writers are publishing over on AO3 or posting insightful meta on tumblr. There's bts photos and plenty of Tom Ellis interviews to enjoy. At last something to lift my spirits in the face of the second wave and cancelled holiday to Italy.

Love all the little physical / body language differences between Michael & Lucifer.

Am not happy with how Maze gets full-on emotional torture all the time. Give her a few happy moments please, writers.

Yes, Tom has really transformed himself when he plays Michael, I think they also 'light' him differently to Lucifer but it is so convincing. I am used to his american accent from 'Rush' but he has adapted that slightly too.

Sadly everyone but Amenadiel and Linda have been pretty dismissive about Maze's issues. I don't think she 'needs' a soul to be connected but she has to discover that on her own. We've yet to see more of the Lilith arc I think. But I can't wait for 5B

I've watched 5A once so far, but have just embarked on a re-watch.

I didn't enjoy it quite as much as 4 until I got to the last three episodes (though the noir one was great) and have never been a big fan of evil twin plots, but I know the re watch will reveal a lot of stuff I missed, plus the season is only half over.

Good to know they're resuming filming at the end of the month.

Can you recommend some fanfic to me? Finding the good stuff on Ao3 is never easy.

At some point, I still hope to write my own series review. If only I could make myself post at all. :(

I think the first half of the season definitely picked up speed at the last three episodes. And like you say, we're only half done so I guess I should not judge any character's arc until it's all out there.

I don't read much fic but Ariaadagio has started publishing her mammoth fic https://archiveofourown.org/works/25992655/chapters/63193456 and I loved all her previous Lucifer work. The other author I always read is Wollfgang. https://archiveofourown.org/users/wollfgang/pseuds/wollfgang
