Not exactly Michelangelo or the Sistene Chapel but a new Art Project .....
I have been promising this and more like them for the last year or so and now that I have even less time on my hands I have eventually started!
The ceiling of my daughter's room has always been painted with clouds and birds, rainbows and zephyrs. To the end of the room the colour deepens to night and a full moon with a smiley face peers over the edge of the walls with a cherub in the corner (no she has never woken screaming at the faces) .
What? I thought it would give her something to look at in the cot at night and as she has grown she has steadfastly refused to let me paint over them, instead she has requested more in the form of the Disney Princesses. Ariel, Jasmine and Aladdin, Cinderella, Belle etc etc. I doubt there will be room for them all but at least she has one done to be going on with. The edges will merge (somehow - I'll improvise) into the next scene.
We had found some sea creature plaques in a shop last year so they were added as finishing touches.
I think she wants Jasmine and Aladdin on their flying carpet over Agrabar.

:D How wonderful!
I used to do themes and painting in by boys rooms when they were young but nothing as wonderful as this! She must be so chuffed!

The ceiling with clouds and swallows etc is still there too and that's from when she was born.
