Type cliched bones joke in here...... Ok, Turkey Wishbone?

Saw the Christmas episode of Bones last night - it had many things to make a fan cheery and full of seasonal spirit  - David wearing Christmas boxers, festive socks and an elf hat. Plus the writers had him stoned saying things like 'shiny' and running around the lab in his 'wife beater' vest for a good part of the episode. There were pull ups too - did I mention those?  Best of all though was the brief reference to 'Firefly re-runs' from one of the squints. Yay!   Ok so the rest was a little schmaltzy - I've endured a lot worse.

The series has improved with each episode, their strength lies in the humour and David seems so comfortable with that.Whilst I don't think it will ever reach the dizzying heights of  Whedon, it is not bad at all.

Minor cricitisms are  1. Brennan's complete ignorance of any pop culture reference is very hard to believe, after all she hasn't been in solitary confinement all her life. 2. Sorry just not enough of David kicking ass - I'd like to see a mini arc developed with some serious action perhaps they'll step it up towards the end of the season.

If you haven't caught it yet - it starts on Sky One in January.  Stick with it, the first two eps are a little slow.

I definitely agree with you. The episode was a little to Christmas-cheery but it had its moments. And I know it's a running joke that she has no knowledge of pop culture but it can get a little annoying after a while...and you can never go wrong with more David kicking ass ;)

"...and you can never go wrong with more David kicking ass"

Especially since the lad seems to be putting so much effort into keeping 'fit' these days ;) - I think it is the least they can do for the fans.

The pop culture ignorance seems to be the main gripe in most of the posts I've read. I hope the writers address the problem.
