Post holiday blues ....
Jun. 5th, 2005 09:50 pmOk so perhaps I haven't got the blues per se but there are mountains of washing that prevent me moving round the kitchen freely, and I get back to bad news on the Starfury convention guests (or unguests) :(
How strange it felt to be away from the net for just 9 days. This is the first time I really missed having a computer around. We took the laptop so Ellie could play games but no link at the digs. One fleeting stop off at an internet cafe didn't really help - just a tantalising glimpse of a huge list of emails and that was it, back to the beach for sun and sea - life sucks ;) Even scoobie name bingo on Polzeath beach was a little disappointing this year - we hit big last year with an actual 'Buffy' (I mean, I'm a die- hard fan but who would do that to their child?) and a Xander, but all I caught this time was an 'Anya' pfftt, pathetic.
I was unable to even seek consolation in the form of cornish pasties and clotted cream due to a mild attack of food poisoning (just me for 24hrs fortunately) I resorted to drinking large quantities of red wine a day later to kill off any remaining bugs. Sad to say the wibbly guts kind of put me off the whole 'squeeze into the wetsuit and wade into subzero temperature water to float on a foam board' ritual that we do each time. Ellie had a blast in her new full length wettie and hubs caught some good waves.
Caught a track off Coldplays new album something like 'Fix you' - I feel a whedonverse video coming on..... And there is Oasis 'Lyla' My latest (Faith) vid was finished just before we left and I have it ready to upload. Not sure how I feel about it yet as it hasn't quite turned out how I'd envisioned (I see Spielberg, my editing skills give me Muffin the Mule) , perhaps the idea was just floating around too long and I am not sure even a good 'beta'ing would help. Ah well such is life
(My that was a rambly entry)
