Random thoughts

So I have one more episode to rewatch and I would have seen Lucifer S5A three times.

What a fabulous start to the season. I loved every episode, some more than others and then the 'others' more after I paid attention to all the big fat clues the writers were leaving.  From a Deckerstar point of view I think it delivered, and in such a satisfying fashion. Ultimately I am  invested in Lucifer's redemption/story line most of all and I could not call how they are going to wrap it.

The cliffhanger was perfect and the introduction of Michael(IsADick) was brilliant, really allowing Tom Ellis to exercise his acting chops with great results.  I am a tad disappointed on how Maze appears to repeating the same mistakes of the past, but we've yet to see how this pans out. 

The fandom is completely awash with stunning art inspired by the new Season - there's a group of artists on twitter who produce consistently amazing work, and I'm wallowing gleefully in that community as I tweet out my offerings. The official Lucifer Netlfix twitter account promotes 4 artists each Friday (and they actually followed me) so it would be cool if I was included, I may even get to 300 followers over there :) 

My favourite fan fic writers are publishing over on AO3 or posting insightful meta on tumblr. There's bts photos and plenty of Tom Ellis interviews to enjoy. At last something to lift my spirits in the face of the second wave and cancelled holiday to Italy.

It's here!  New season arrived on Netflix this morning at 8am.

It's super quiet at work at the moment so I may sneak another ep - I just don't want to be interrupted.

In other news have some art. I've gone back to trying watercolours after 14 years?

Two more Lucifer Wallpapers 'Lightbringer' and 'Fume of Sighs'

I guess inspiration came for Lightbringer from some fanfic on AO3 exploring Lucifer as the creator of the stars, and a flimsy excuse to use one of the new images from Hubbell telescope.

Fume of Sighs is a Deckerstar one with some Shakespeare thrown in from Romeo & Juliet. "Love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes;Being vexed, a sea nourished with loving tears."    Not condoning smoking at all.

I've worked from our home office since 2007. It's been a great move for us both (I work with my husband) but lately I cannot tell you all how glad I am that we do.

That said,  my oldest friend in Tuscany  is having an appalling time. We're due to visit in August and I really hope by that time Italy is on the road to recovery. It is one of my favourite countries in the world, and possibly top of my list.

On other matters of impact on our normal activities,  this Winter/Spring has been very low key in theatre & London jaunts anyway,  we just hadn't booked anything . Other than 'Ocean At The End of The Lane' in January where I spotted Joss Whedon in the audience - we just have 'Upstart Crow'  on 21st March and it would be ironic if the 'master of the revels'  were to close theatres due to the COV19 virus like they did back in the day with plague.

The only thing I am watching with concern is Lux 2 - the Lucifer Convention I have been looking forward to since last year. In fact the only Convention I have been excited about for years.  We had an email last night saying it was still proceeding as of this week, but that could change overnight. If the Cast decide that they cannot risk travel/ can't get flights/government force closure of gatherings.   The organizer has postponed the Hannibal Con that was due the week before, but not Lux2 yet.  Although I would be bitterly disappointed, financially it is better that the whole thing is postponed so I can recoup ticket/photo op costs and cancel part of the hotel booking rather than half the cast not showing up.  I guess we wait it out.

Hope all on my flist are good and taking care.

So the stupid & corrupt  got their way. I spent the whole day avoiding any government propaganda and shite from Far-thedge et al. Caught the Led by Donkeys projections on Big Ben and the White Cliffs, and started to fill up when they took down the Union Jack from the row of flags.

This is national suicide, they have stolen our children & grand children's future. All those deluded former  Labour supporters voting for the  inveterate liar Johnson.  Like turkeys for Christmas. And you know what? They will still blame those of us who wished to remain when reality bites them on the arse.

Taking a break from sketching portraits for Lux2 by making a wallpaper. This time ' Deckerstar' Season 3 'High School  Poppycock'  scene of the 'prom' for Chloe. Unbelievably romantic. I am such a sucker for these things.

So as you would have guessed 'Lucifer' doesn't really lend itself well to Christmas/Seasonal artwork but I had a go anyway. Made them just a little more sparkly and added a 'santa/satan' hat.

 

  

Buffy and Angel Art - RIP 2004 - 2019

So my first 'real' website with all the whedonverse art, wallpapers, Icons and fan convention photos is no more.

I was paying a silly amount to keep it going each year when I had another site for the vids that was under-utilized, so it was time to wave goodbye. I still own the domain name, clunky and out of date as it is.  All the original art & select wallpapers are on deviantart, photos are spread over photobucket and tumblr.  Icons have not been posted anywhere as I am not sure there is much call for them these days.  I will still continue to post the odd icon set and wallpaper here & LJ. 

I just thought it fitting to make a post about its passing.
