I suppose I could claim that the voices in my head made me do it, but honestly it was the song. Or the Film. or both. But hey Blazing Saddles was a western so there is kind of a link with the 'verse.  The film is one of our favourites, childish and silly but with moments of genius.Who could resist Lili (oh Lili) Von Schtup (sp) doing a 'Dietrich' and singing her lament so slightly off key.  We were channel hopping late last year when we saw Blazing Saddles, whilst  watching I mentioned to J that it would be perfect for Inara. That's when the vid bunny started to hop.

The soundtrack came out on vinyl I believe, but I couldn't find a CD anywhere so I have had to take the audio off the DVD I bought. So there are crowd noises,  slurpy sounds and couple of time I swear it sounds as if someone has kicked a bucket. But this isn't high art so y'all have to forgive me. I also took out a huge chunk of the song - which I felt I couldn't find enough source to do it justice.  Anyway, there you are - my take on why Inara leaves 'Serenity'  Sorry.
