14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever vidded higher than you're comfortable with? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the vid you're making is G-rated instead?
I'll go as high as I think necessary for the vid I want to make. You won't find me often out of my comfort zone so the rating will not shock me. I don't edit vids thinking this is a only G or a PG, Normally my source dictates the level which wanders into an 18 (UK classification) but I don't like extreme gore or violence so it's not something that comes up too often.
15 – Warnings – What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what's the strangest thing you've warned for in a vid?
If I ever make a vid with triggery scenes of extreme violence and rape etc I would warn, but so far I haven't. I made a comment about no Rileys being hurt in the making of a vid (in jest of course) and that's probably it. I've also warned for swearing (odd words) holy water splashage and finger bending. Mostly the vids I assume are viewed by fans of the shows so they should be aware of the content.
16 – Summaries – Do you like them or hate them? How do you come up with them, if you use them?
Funny things summaries- how much do you say? Do I want to influence what a viewer will see in my vid? I like to keep them fairly brief, not give too much away and often will quote a pertinent line from the lyrics or quotation that may have triggered the whole project. Personally if I see a summary which is more like a ficlet or drabble I'm less inclined to watch the vid.
17 – Titles – Do you try to use something different than the song? Why or why not?
Nearly all the vids I have made to date have the Song Title (or part of) - another four have a dominant Lyric line from the song instead of the title. The rest that do not are instrumental /classical music where the title would be nonsense. I like using the Song Titles whereever possible, most of which I feel do make sense.
