Cabin In the Woods

thedothatgirlSo... finally got to see it last night as Mum was here teensitting.
I really enjoyed it despite all the awful violence. I am not a big fan of gory horror or extreme violence so I did have to make myself go and see this film. I was uncomfortable in those scenes and it reminded me so much of watching crass horror movies when I was in my twenties - wondering how people can enjoy this stuff. However the film was funny and had us sniggering all the way through - especially the black humour in the Bradley Whitford scenes (Mordecai ftw) Fran Kranz & Bradley Whiford were excellent but the rest of the cast put in good performances. I don't feel the urge to watch it again any time real soon but I think I will get the DVD when it's released and will probably spot all those clever things I missed the first time round. (LIke a Firefly Reaver apparently)
I do think I might have to have an icon of Marty with his collapsable bong. Just how awesome was that?
Booked Avengers for Tuesday evening - taking Ellie and Mum - We watched Iron Man last night as part of the Avengers 'prep' with Mum - I tell you it was a pure delight to see her perched on the edge of the sofa occasionally shouting instructions to the TV :)
