Notes: Of all the pre-Avenger marvel films,  I love 'Thor (2011) the most. Which is surprising because I'm also a big Tony Stark fan. Perhaps it's because I have always been into mythology of all kinds - familiar with  Roman, Grecian and  Egyptian with a tiny bit of Norse on the side.  Loki's story in this film is so sad,   beautifully portrayed by Mr Hiddleston and irresistible to watch. I've tried to keep the focus on him and and some of his reaction to Odin ( a little of Thor/ warriors 3/sif )  I will add that I also love the character of Thor too - after he learns a little humility of course, been tazerred and run over a few times.  I like his loyalty and love for his brother. I may vid him too if I find a song. 

I also have a vid idea for Loki in the Avengers - who is a different animal to the one we see at the end of Thor. I just need to be able to rip the DVD - DVDecrypter just  laughed at the Thor disc and I suspect that it will be the same with Avengers.  If anyone has cracked that I would appreciate finding out what they used and the settings etc. *flutters lashes*

Cannot believe that my last vid was posted end of April - that's possibly the longest period of 'non vidding' since I started in 2004 and will have to say that I didn't enjoy the break at all.  I'm not saying that this vid is 'best eva', but I missed the process in truth. Once the vid is done there's all that doubt about suckage and such. What I enjoy is seeing parts of it really work how you envisaged and just being able to post something that I created rather than the reblog syndrome over at tumblr.  I hope it's not another 4 months before I get something on the time line again.

Anyway ramble over, hope you like the vid and comments are love.

Is true though - I love your work.

Part of the reason for loving Thor or being able to enjoy it fully is that to me the story is Mythology (ok Marvel's version) whereas not being raised on Marvel or DC comics as a Brit means that Capt American etc don't have that nostalgic pull on my emotions - I still loved the films but not as much as this one..

Loved this!! What I liked most was your editing was very flowing, with a lot of overlays and fading. It was visually appealing on many different levels. Loki's story is beautiful and heartbreaking. Thanks for sharing the vid!

I'm also excited that you finished it, since you had mentioned that you weren't feeling the urge to vid lately. I'm glad you got over it.

ETA: BTW, I don't have the Thor disc but I was able to rip the Avengers disc using Magic DVD.

I really feel for Loki's in 'Thor', the film is so beautiful I am glad I got back into vidding with this source. And I think it's done the trick because I wanted to start another vid as soon as this one was finished.

I will definitely get Magic DVD - I may come pestering for settings if I'm too thick to work it out, I need to do it for the next Loki vid which is in a different vein entirely.

I've only ever used it once, and that was the other day when I ripped Avengers! I used the default settings. The only problem I had was that it ripped the background audio without any of the speech. Gotta be another setting for that I overlooked.

Ok Thanks - I'll bear that in mind when I have a go. Normally I don't use any audio at all - as long as I don't get subtitles all over the video!
