I'm on the 3rd playing of the new Elbow album 'Build A Rocket Boys' that I bought this morning. Wonderful.
I love Elbow, Guy Garvey's singing retains it's regional accent and is very mellow, their lyrics are clever yet very human. The first track of theirs I can recall hearing was on a free CD with the Guardian years ago - 'Fugitive Motel' (I visualize SPN vid to this) but didn't buy any albums until they released 'One Day Like This' and then I picked up their back catalogue - Oh the joys of buying MP downloads (I use Play.com cause they don't want to flood my PC with iTunes crap)
I dread to think how much I've spent in the last 2 - 3 years - buying music online is so spontaneous and I must admit that vidding drives a need to find new and different music all the time. I also bought 'Imelda May's 'Mayhem' it's a little more rockabilly than I'd first thought but what the hey - something different.
So yeah, Elbow are fantastic - there's quite a few of their songs I'd love to vid but best of all is just listening to them while I am supposed to be working.
And on a random tangent - Pancake day today. Squeeze those lemons, toss those pancakes - we're very much pancake traditionalists at our place - none of that chocolate sauce whipped cream heresy.
