So if you see vids posted on Sunnydale Herald they are the old ones made on WMM and hence have squiffy A/R,stray frames and talky face.

Netflix and things
Feb. 7th, 2014 09:13 amSo we decided to give it a spin since we changed ISP to a unlimited package that was more 'unlimited' than the last one. It's mainly for TV series/seasons that we keep missing and I don't want to buy (yet). In penance I may have to do more time on the exercise bike as the arse is gonna get pretty well couch shaped to go with those square eyes.
Watched the first ep of 'The Thick of It'. Fuckity fuck, Peter Capaldi is going to be a very interesting Doctor.

Well so long Viddler
Feb. 6th, 2014 09:46 amThose of you who use viddler will know that they stopped offering new free accounts quite some time ago. Well this morning was the email telling us to upgrade to a reasonably priced basic account - pay 25$ a month or piss off.
Guess which option I'll be choosing.
I have everything on there as a back up streaming option but many of the older vids are only on viddler. The good thing about Viddler was that they don't block vids due to copyright, but the playback isn't the best. I shall most likely now upload those vids solely on viddler to a combination of youtube/vimeo. Don't want to overload vimeo and risk having the whole account pulled though. At least most of the old videos are tiny and won't take long to move.

Double booked and have tickets for Lear
Feb. 2nd, 2014 03:19 pmSo I booked to see the currently sold out King Lear with Simon Russell Beale (Sam Mendes production) in February. It now appears that they clash with an important (i.e. can't get out of it) black tie family bash.
I was so looking forward to the play and will have to try and get more tickets for later in April/May when advance booking re-opens this Friday. If I thought I could avoid the party without ruffling feathers then I would.
I have two tickets for February 22nd 7.00pm at the National Theatre Circle . Information on the production is here. It's already had 5star reviews so if anyone wants them please message me or pass info to anyone they think might be interested.

So according to Channel 4's twitter - their Gods of Scheduling (I suspect they are Asgardian and actually Gods of Mischief) have not yet decided on a slot for Marvel's Agents of SHIELD's return in 2014.

Coriolanus (Donmar) Lay-persons review
Jan. 6th, 2014 08:39 pmI ‘studied’ this play for A -Level English but that was over 35 yrs ago, so when it was announced that this would be Tom’s return to the Shakespearean stage, I was a little nonplussed. I didn’t remember anything in detail, about the play other than the obnoxious soldier, pushy ambitious mother and it ‘didn’t end well’. Also that I, like many, had visualized Coriolanus as an older man.
I watched the Fiennes version in the months before the performance and also re-read the text. My god, it’s easier to understand Shakespeare with those extra years under my belt. I saw it with my husband and in the end, my Shakespeare adoring niece who lives in London. The intention was to take my 14yr daughter, but she can be emotional at violence, gore etc so she bailed & was treated to a tour of London with a friend who knows all the best places and dim sum in China town.

My god. Just.Six.Vids. I thought last year was pretty low output, but this is the least I have made since I started editing. Although not memed on LJ in 2005 (10 vids) and From Aug 2004 I made 6 in 6months. To be perfectly honest the last one was a struggle. This makes me sad and not helpful in terms of motivation.
Favourite Vid
Run Boy Run always evokes emotions felt watching the last few films, so it's kind of special for that alone. There are moments in it that I adore and one day I will make a HP vid that is entirely happy.
Least Favourite
Doesn't seem fair to pick a least favourite. Serenade in Blue was between a choice of two very different songs, curiosity nudges me to try a remake with the other song. Just to see how it works. It's also a depressing film so you're never gonna feel happy seeing all that misery.
Most Successful
Define successful?- we'll go with popular/most commented.
In terms of comments on LJ - Run, Boy Run had the most - and Goodnight the least. Goodnight wins the YT hits with 2800+ (there's a reason for that possibly) That said though - commenting isn't what it used to be and I am pleasantly surprised when I get any on LJ.

None really. Some had a real slow start but then picked up later in terms of views. I thought the PotC Jack vid would be more popular on YT but for a while it wasn't available to view on mobiles etc. Run Boy is still prohibited for mobiles & TV. I guess it's a copyright issue?

Captain Jack Sparrow. By a mile. I still laugh at the penis/balls metaphor but mind is always in the gutter. Plus my only vid with a goat, which is a personal milestone.

See my comment last year re Sony Vegas.I didn't even open the program. I don't think it would have helped with the awol muse. I still see tiny things in most of the vids that I wish I'd fixed.

Availability issues with Breaking Bad meant I only got as far as S2 Ep2 but what we've seen so far will probably mean adding it to the rental list rather than scrapping for D/loads. I mean it's gripping and it's like watching a train wreck but you can't help yourself.

Sherlock and Doctor Who. There may be some others. I try hard to watch broadcast stuff these days rather than d/loads.

There is even a possibility we won't get it on Terrestrial in the UK anyway now that C5 has dropped it from it's schedule. I appreciated the acting in Orphan Black but I couldn't give a damn about the characters so that one went south very quickly.

Clearly Agents of SHIELD - for pure entertainment value and some potentially awesome characters. Usually there's one character in a new show that I could easily bear to see 'offed' but not this group. I'm actually loving them all for their funny quirky ways. I really don't know what they were expecting with a Marvel/Whedonesque show aimed at family viewing but what we're getting is just fine by me.

Oh this film - seen it three times now and I love it (in a different way to the first which is still really fine) I have a feeling this was a Joss penned scene (one of the last to be filmed) And funny enough when I was watching Henry IV Pt1 last night as Hal appears chastised before the King, Tom does the almost exact same footstep as he approaches - just as if he is standing to attention.
I think Chris Hemsworth does an excellent job too - it's rather a shame he is overshadowed by the media Loki attention. There's much to be said for the Thor & Loki dynamic being greater than the sum of the parts. I shall more than likely be making more wallpapers. Next up a few Agents of Shield Icons I think.
